Frequently Asked Questions

Learn how our Direct Specialty Care model works, what membership includes, and how we provide personalized, relationship-based care.

  • Direct Specialty Care is a modern healthcare model where you pay for care directly, rather than going through insurance.

Instead of getting surprise bills weeks or months later, you will know the cost before you receive care.

You will have improved access, longer visits, and a personal relationship with your physician.

  • Harmony Gynecology provides care for adolescents and adults across life stages, including perimenopause and menopause.

  • Harmony Gynecology intentionally schedules fewer appointments each day so visits can be thoughtful and unhurried.  To ensure appointment time remains available for all patients who need care, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.  Appointments missed without notice may incur a $25 no show fee.

  • Harmony Gynecology does not bill insurance for services, however you may still use your insurance for labs, imaging, and prescriptions if preferred.  Direct specialty care gives you access to wholesale, self-pay pricing which is often less expensive than insurance-negotiated rates, particularly for patients with high deductibles.  If you have insurance, you will have both options available and can choose what makes the most sense.

  • Yes.  Direct care is often especially helpful for uninsured patients because pricing is clear, upfront, and not tied to insurance.

  • No.  While both models involve direct payment, Harmony Gynecology is a direct care micropractice focused on accessibility, transparency, and essential gynecologic care - not luxury add-ons.

  • All emergencies should be handled with 911 or in the emergency room. Members will be given several methods to contact me for urgent or non-urgent matters.

  • Credit card, debit card, ACH (bank transfer), and in some cases HSA/FSA funds.  Verify HSA/FSA eligibility with your plan’s administrator.

  • No.  Membership is optional.  Patients can choose membership or a la carte visits based on their needs.

  • You can cancel your membership at any time.  To cancel, just notify me in writing (by email or through your patient portal).  Your membership will remain active through the end of your current billing period, and no further charges will be made.

  • I do not provide obstetric services at this location.  I do not offer assisted reproductive technology or some more complex surgical procedures. There may be conditions or situations that are better served by another specialist. I will work hard to help facilitate that connection for you.
